Numerous personalities have lived on this typical old Paris street: La Bruyère, Emile Littré, Guillaume Apollinaire... In Le chef-d'œuvre inconnu, Balzac lodges his painter Frenhofer here. In 1937, Picasso painted Guernica. Jean-Louis Barrault, an unforgettable actor and director, ran an experimental theater here.
